We provide a **2-year workmanship warranty** covering qualifying hardwood flooring installations performed by National Floors. If a covered installation problem is determined to have been caused by our workmanship, **National Floors will stand behind our work and make it right.** ## What Does the National Floors Installation Warranty Cover? Our warranty covers the workmanship involved in the installation of your hardwood flooring. This applies to qualifying unfinished and prefinished hardwood flooring installations performed by National Floors. The warranty covers **installation workmanship failure**. Damage or changes resulting from use, accidents, moisture, environmental conditions, structural conditions, material defects or other causes outside the control of National Floors are not installation workmanship failures. ## What Does National Floors Not Warranty? ### Moisture and Water Damage Moisture is one of the greatest threats to hardwood flooring. National Floors follows appropriate jobsite and acclimation procedures before installing hardwood flooring; however, moisture conditions can change after installation. Examples include plumbing leaks, roof leaks, appliance leaks, flooding, groundwater, drainage or grade problems, standing water, excessive or insufficient humidity, building-envelope leaks, improper cleaning, pet urine and other sources of moisture outside the control of National Floors. These conditions can cause cupping, crowning, buckling, swelling, shrinking, separation, excessive gaps, discoloration or other changes to the flooring. **Damage caused by water, moisture or environmental conditions is not a flooring workmanship failure and is not covered by the National Floors workmanship warranty.** ### Neglect, Misuse and Physical Damage Hardwood flooring can be damaged through misuse, accidents or failure to reasonably protect the floor. Examples include dragging furniture, furniture without appropriate protective feet or pads, dropped objects, cleats, spikes, sharp objects, high heels, appliances, equipment and other sources of impact or physical damage. **Scratches, dents, gouges, chips or other damage caused by neglect, misuse, accidents or physical impact are not flooring workmanship failures and are not covered by the National Floors workmanship warranty.** ### Pet and Animal Damage Pets can damage hardwood flooring through scratching, claw marks, gouging, chewing, urine, stains, moisture and water around food or water bowls. **Damage caused by pets or other animals is not a flooring workmanship failure and is not covered by the National Floors workmanship warranty.** ### Natural Expansion, Contraction and Seasonal Gaps Hardwood is a natural material that responds to changes in temperature and humidity. Seasonal expansion and contraction can cause temporary changes in the appearance of a hardwood floor, including gaps between boards. **Normal expansion, contraction, seasonal gaps and other natural dimensional changes caused by environmental conditions are not flooring workmanship failures and are not covered by the National Floors workmanship warranty.** ### Hardwood Floor Squeaking and Movement Hardwood is a natural material that continually responds to changes in its environment. As temperature and humidity change with the seasons, hardwood can expand and contract. Over time, this natural movement can allow flooring boards to move slightly against neighboring boards, fasteners or the subfloor, which may result in occasional squeaking.
